Cross Curricular Workshops & Programmes
Our series of practical, cross curricular workshops & short programmes are designed to help schools keep children active, provide new sporting opportunities and demonstrate cross curricular links between sport, mental health, life skills and other areas of the national curriculum.
Workshops:
We visit for either 1/2 a day or a full day and run a series of 25-45 minute workshops to as many your classes as possible. Workshops have clear learning objectives and are both practical and theoretical. Resources are provided after every workshop
Short Programme:
We work with the same classes for approx 45 minutes every week for 6 weeks. Programmes are linked to the national curriculum and are Sport Premium Expenditure approved. All programmes come with the option of running a club before / after school

Overview:
Short workshops to demonstrate the positive impact of physical activity on our body and mind. Children take away practical tools that can be used every day to improve physical and mental wellbeing.

Realise that a child doesn’t need to love sport to be active

Active Science - Taking curriculum learning outside the classroom
Type:
Workshop or 6 week programme
Overview
Workshops – Focus on one of the below topics and show children a new way of understanding curriculum science. The part practical / part theory workshops will increase learning opportunities and give children the opportunity to see first hand the physical impact of the science theory they are learning
Programmes – As above but over the course of the six weeks children will cover all topics
Topics:
Understanding the skeletal system and its main functions.
Understanding the muscular system and its main function.
Identify and name the main parts of the human circulatory system.
Describe the functions of the heart, blood vessels and blood
Recognise the impact of diet and exercise and understanding the digestive system.
Describe the ways in which nutrients and water are transported within humans.

Fundamental Movement Skills - Enhance every child's physical development
Type:
Workshop
Overview
A workshop designed to introduce fundamental skills into everyday culture. We show you how to link key movements into every PE warm up. Finally we demonstrate the importance / impact that children being able to develop these skills will have on their quest for an active lifestyle.
Outcomes:
Understand the key fundamental skills of movement
See how skills can be implemented into every PE session
Learn how to progress and differentiate
Demonstrate the importance of practicing these skills on our physical and mental health
